Mike Snyder • drums & percussion - Mike's influence has been felt in many different aspects of the music business. Whether it be recording, education, or electronic drums, Mike Snyder has left his mark. His playing can be heard on hundreds of records, Cleo award-winning jingles, film, and television soundtracks, including Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Home Improvement, Dinosaurs, One Tree Hill, and The Little Mermaid. Mel Brooks called Mike, "My most favorite drummer in the world." After publishing his first drum set instruction book in 1983, at age 23, Mike went on to teach drum set at USC in Los Angeles and write All About Electronic Percussion—the definitive guide for electronic drums—as well as dozens of feature articles for DRUM! Magazine. For over 35 years Mike has been a driving force and innovator in the electronic drum world. In addition to being one of the first original electronic percussionists in the world, Mike's designs and patents have greatly influenced electronic drumming. Mike has been the face of Roland's V-Drums for over 15 years, having given over 1000 workshops and clinics. He is recognized worldwide as an eDrum Guru. He holds a Master's degree in percussion from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in percussion from the University of Oregon. Mike is an artist clinician for DW Drums, Aquarian Drumheads, Crescent Cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Audix microphones. He is the designer of the Vic Firth eStick and the percussive flair in The Noted.
